Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 | Siem Reap – Arrival
Meal: None

Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by our escort guide and driver then they transfer you directly (Approx. 15-20 minutes) to hotel for check in. Simply enjoy your own free time at hotel’s poolside.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 2 | Siem Reap – Full Day Angkor Discovery
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch

Breakfast is at hotel. We’re journeying out (by Tuk Tuk or car) of hotel at 8.00am the South Gate of Angkor Thom atop 4 giant faces that religiously represents compassion, sympathy, equanimity and charity. Stroll around Bayon temple consisting of more than 200 smiling faces in stone, admired by interesting temples including Baphuon, Phimeanakas, terrace of leper king and terrace of elephant. Resume the journey to visit Ta Prohm temple adorned with the stunning, amazing tree roots where Lara Croft Tomb Raider was filmed. Enjoy Khmer set lunch at a selected local restaurant.

Afternoon, continue to witness the marvelous Angkor Wat – the world’s heritage listed by UNESCO in 1992 and the largest unrivaled monument in the world. Built by Suryavarman II in 12th Century, Angkor Wat is considered as one of the top destinations in Asia and is a must-see in your lifetime. Learning from your tour guide the amazing history, its ancestral incredible, architectural masterpieces and the finest carvings dates back to the Khmer Empire when it dominated the largest parts of Southeast Asia.

Note: Visiting beautiful sunset is available at Phnom Bakheng but with limit allowance.

Day 3 | Siem Reap – Wildlife Sanctuary, Kbal Spean & Intricately Carved Banteay Srei
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch

Breakfast is at hotel. Today we leave at 7.45am then drive passing rice paddies and countryside toward wildlife sanctuary “Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity” whose wildlife expert will give you a great orientation to learn about wildlife/birds being protected and how they rescue those rare endangered species. We challenge hiking up (45mins) Kbal Spean hill, through rooting/rocky path to see the series of sandstone formation carved under the river, which was built during Angkor period. We stroll around the riverbed of 1000 linga carvings admired small river and its waterfall (seasonal) and learn from your tour guide about Angkorian history then you can bathe under the falls if you visit it at the end of the rainy season.

After lunch, resume the journey to unlock the intricately carved, beautiful red-pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei – considered to be a Jewel of Khmer art which features elaborate decorations and its finest details. These factors have made the temple extremely popular with tourists, and have led to its being widely praised as a “precious gem”. On the way back, we have a short visit at palm sugar village and other various local handicrafts.

Day 4 | Siem Reap – Phnom Kulen Waterfall & Apsara Performance
Meal: Breakfast, Dinner

Breakfast is at hotel. We’re journeying out at 8.00am to visit one of Cambodia’s national parks – popularly known as “Phnom Kulen” where you see the famous, beautiful waterfall in Siem Reap. Phnom Kulen (Mountain of Lychee) situates about 57km with approx. 1 hour drive, the site is regarded as the holy mountain for religious significance to Hindus and Buddhists and was the significant home of the ancient Khmer Empire when King Jayavarma II proclaimed independence from Java in 804 CE. The journey provides nice views of rice paddies, countryside dotting with palm trees and cattle. We will have a short visit at Preah Dak market to witness daily life of people selling their vegetables, meat and exchange the trades.

Enjoy the walking tour to see the giant reclining Buddha statue on the hilltop along with breathtaking, spectacular views and learn from your tour guide about historical site. Resume walking within the jungle to witness religious Hindu of the riverbed of 1000 linga carvings, next we move to observe the sacred ground-pool before we head to relax near the waterfall. From then, it is your own free time for cooling down, bathing, swimming and enjoying local lunch and fresh coconut juice nearby (own account).

Late afternoon, we drive back to Siem Reap and on the way, we stop for a visit at palm sugar village and other various local handicraft souvenirs. Evening, transfer to have Khmer set dinner followed by traditional Apsara dance performance at a selected local restaurant.

Day 5 | Tonle Sap Lake & Beng Mealea Jungle Temple

Meal: Breakfast, Dinner

Breakfast is at hotel. The tour begins at 8.00am at your hotel’s lobby then heading out of the hassle Siem Reap city about 1 hour (50km) drive to Kompong Khleang village of Tonle Sap Lake. The journey passes interesting city highlight, countryside dotting with palm trees and on the way, we enroute to observe how famous bamboo sticky rice is produced, and you have chances to taste some bites of those delicious snacks. Once we arrive at the boat pier, embark a sheltered boat which slowly cruises along the canal and around the region that admired by amazing houses atop high poles, come across the highlight of fishing activities as well as see people selling fruits/vegetable/meats on their boats. Continue the boat trip to visit Kompong Khleang floating community, witness how life works on the water and how people make the lake as home and see the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia “Tonle Sap”, learn from your tour guide about ecosystem and its rich biosphere reserve.

Afternoon, we drive to visit the hidden Beng Mealea jungle temple amongst the real wilderness. Once we arrive, we walk to experience the guided adventure within the lush jungle to reveal the lost temple “Beng Mealea”. Since the temple was constructed during the reign of king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century until then it’s never been restored again. It provides wonderful adventure tour that you’re going to climb over/down the ruined rocks, walking into the gallery to unlock the carvings and its interesting history of the Hindu temple related Angkor time. We then tranquilly capture picturesque photos.

Evening, enjoy Khmer set dinner followed by traditional tribal dance show at Art Shadow restaurant with tranquil ambience.

Day 6 | Siem Reap – Bird Sanctuary & Phare Cambodian Circus
Meal: Breakfast, Dinner

Breakfast is at hotel. We’re heading out of the hassle Siem Reap city at 8.00am passing beautiful hug rice fields dotting with palm trees, cattle, birds and harvesting activities (seasonal), come across plenty of gardening activities and you probably want to stop to capture some photos before we arrive the Boeng Pearaing bird site. Begin embarking a sheltered boat slowly cruising within Boeng Pearaing which allows you to see Cambodia’s threaten waterbirds such as Comb Duck, Purple Swamphen, Cormorant, Darteretc and take as many as photos you like. Enjoy the surrounding admired by its serenity while observing and learning from your tour guide about bird breeding, migration, and specially witness how the conservative area & birds are carefully being protected. Return to Chreav village to visit local marketwith interesting trading activities. Return hotel for own free time.

Evening, transfer to have delicious Khmer set dinner at famous Viroth’s restaurant, the unique beautiful setting and garden before going to watch unique Phare Circus performance (no animals) which is unlike any other circus in the world: theater, story, dance, high-energy music and circus arts.

Day 7 | Siem Reap – Departure
Meal: Breakfast

Breakfast is served at hotel. Basically enjoy your own free time on this last day before transferring to airport for flight back home.

Dressing Code

Cambodia geographically stays in the tropical monsoon, its weather varies and annually brings wet and dry seasons, generally hot in during day time and a bit cooler at night, and in the early morning. You should wear whatever most comfortable but remember to dress appropriately to respect the locals and other religious sites; pagodas, temples and holy places. Clothes must cover your shoulders and knees when you wish to visit the top part at Angkor Wat, Royal Palace in Phnom Penh and when you go to meet Buddhist monks.
